Inglot Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, Sculpting Powder and brushes Review

Review of Inglot products
Inglot Haul!

As promised, here is a review of the Inglot products I purchased from Wisma Atria Singapore last month.

Inglot is definitely a brand that professional makeup artists should check out; or if you're pretty serious about makeup, it is also for you!

Why do I make such a claim?

One step into the boutique, you will sense something different from the usual makeup brands. It looks very down-to-earth, nothing too fancy or luxurious about it, yet it has a professional feel to it, just like the previous Makeup Forever boutique in Ngee Ann City. You will notice the lightings are white, not the usual soft or yellow lighting in some makeup boutiques. Speaking of which...I never get this: Why would a makeup boutique be fitted with soft yellow lights? The colours will never be accurate as we swatch them. What we tested in the boutique will look darn different when we apply and walk out in sunlight. OF COURSE I know why they do that. But STILL...

Anyway, back to Inglot. The boutique is splashed with different colours, textures and product types - you will be spoiled for choice. And the unique factor is the 'Freedom System' the brand offers. We can choose what we want and make it into our personalised makeup palette. It's like we can be our own "professional" makeup artist. Isn't that awesome fun?

The price point is another attractive factor. Inglot makeup products are reasonably priced. The brushes are good-quality brushes. Although the brushes are not exactly cheap, but they are still considered inexpensive compared to high-end brands. One thing I noted is, they do not have many options for synthetic brushes - most brushes are made of animal hair. Hence, vegan/animal lovers probably have to give this a miss. ( I found out too late... I already bought one brush made of pony hair when I realised it is not made of synthetic hair, and I was pretty upset about my blunder. )

Anyway, lesson learnt. So, let's move on and get down to the product reviews!

AMC Eyeliner Gel Matte, SGD25

Review of Inglot AMC eyeliner gel

Review of Inglot AMC eyeliner gel

Review of Inglot AMC eyeliner gel
Swatching the eyeliner with my Inglot brush 30T
Pros:
  1. Long-lasting.
  2. Doesn't smudge easily.
  3. Very black -> gorgeous for tightlining!
  4. Doesn't dry up too fast in the jar.
  5. Good, study unbreakable plastic packaging.
Cons:
  1. As with many gel liners, this may take some time to remove, since it is darkly pigmented. Solution is to use a good eye makeup remover! (Which I will talk about in my HG series soon!)
Overall Product Rating:

HD Face Sculpting Powder 505, SGD22
Blush Case: SGD14
Review of Inglot HD Sculpting Powder

Pros:
  1. Matte, no shimmers, unlike bronzers.
  2. Natural taupe colour -> just enough to show the facial contours, yet not fake-looking
  3. Ample-sized pot -> can last rather long.
  4. Suitable for most skin tones, since it's light and buildable to dark.
  5. Reasonably long-lasting.
Cons:
  1. Have to purchase its casing separately, which sets you back for a few bucks or more than SGD10, depending on which case you choose.
Overall Product Rating:

AMC Eyeshadows

    Review of AMC Eyeshadow
Just Inglot eyeshadows. No case was purchased.

    Review of AMC Eyeshadow
    Feels quite smooth

    Review of AMC Eyeshadow
Swatches under natural daylight. Eyeshadow Shine 30 virtually disappeared!

Swatches of the powders, with lightings

    AMC Eyeshadow Square 52, SGD12

    Pros:
    1. Beautiful brown colour with fine gold glitters.
    2. Versatile colour - natural enough for day look, buildable to shimmering smokey brown for evenings.
    3. Finely-milled powder.
    4. No fallouts.
    Cons:
    1. Need a separate darker eyeshadow shade to complete the smokey contoured eye look.
    2. Have to purchase casing separately.

    AMC Eyeshadow Square Shine30, SGD12

    Pros:
    1. Subtle colour - good for those who are looking for just a soft shine.
    2. Finely-milled powder.
    Cons:
    1. Not pigmented, not lasting. Colour doesn't show (refer to the above pic of the swatch without flash light) and shine disappears fast.
    2. Not exactly a pretty colour - just a simple gold sheen.
    3. Some fallouts.
    4. Probably only suitable for use under the brow bone, not good enough for inner corners or creating nice aegyo sal.

    Inglot Makeup Brushes

    Review of Inglot brushes
    Makeup Brushes 13P and 30T

    Makeup Brush 13P, SGD21
    Review of Inglot brushes

    Pros:
    1. Picks up powder well and spreads colour evenly.
    2. Soft, does not prick the eyes.
    3. Great size for inner corners, good for outer V as well.
    4. Doesn't shed.
    5. Easy to clean.
    6. Black, sleek matte handle -> surface looks & remains cleaner than light-coloured brushes.
    Cons:
    1. Made of natural (pony) hair. To me this is a con, because I am against animal cruelty.
    2. Not cheap. There are cheaper versions in the market.
    Overall Product Rating:

    Makeup Brush 30T, SGD 30T
    Review of Inglot brushes
Finest and thickest lines that can be drawn with the brush and eyeliner
    Pros:
    1. Slanted brush makes it easy for tightlining and normal eye-lining.
    2. High quality synthetic hair - doesn't shed even after rough handling!
    3. Great for 'cat-eye flick' looks, better symmetry due to its slanted angle.
    4. Easy to clean, even with oil-based makeup remover (when I just want a quick no-water wipe).
    Cons:
    1.  Since it is so pointy, it sometimes tickles the eyes, if the brush isn't held properly.
    2.  May not be suitable for everyone, since there is a certain technique to hold the brush for it to work properly.
    Overall Product Rating:

(Recommended more for mid-level or advance makeup junkies!)

    Cosmetics Accessories - Palette, SGD15
    3CE Lip Pigment
    Loving the metal plate!

    Pros:
    1. Inexpensive
    2. Does what it is supposed to do - a simple, flat metal plate for mixing colours
    3. Smooth, shiny, a little matte surface, not easily scratched
    Cons:
No cons! Except that perhaps there are cheaper versions elsewhere, which I personally have not come across, but I am guessing it is not hard to find something similar on China online sites.

How I Use the Palette Mixer:
    • To hold creamy products
    • For finding that perfect shade of foundation through a mix of two colours
    • To make my own tinted moisturiser (foundation + moisturizer)
    • For mixing creamy lip tints, as shown below...

Since I am photographing this, I might as well show you swatches of the 3CE lipments in Bright Orange and Mellow Pink...

    Swatches of 3CE Lip Pigments
3CE Lip Pigment Swatches! They are really so pretty! (Sorry I digressed from Inglot talk.)

On the whole, I personally really do love Inglot products! They are value-for-money and deliver results I want. The freedom of choice to mix and match is indeed a major selling point; I am completely sold! Will go back soon for more!
